Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

BacktestProof is designed with privacy first:

• Backtest files — processed entirely in your browser. Never uploaded to our servers.
• Computed metrics — score, statistics, trade count, date range — sent to our AI service (Anthropic Claude) only when you request AI Key Findings. No individual trade data is included.
• Email address — collected by Stripe during payment processing for the AI unlock feature. Used solely to confirm your purchase. We do not use it for marketing.
• Payment data — handled entirely by Stripe. We receive only a session ID and email confirming payment. We do not store your card details.
• AI unlock status — stored in your browser's IndexedDB locally. Not synced to any server.

2. What We Don't Collect

• We do not collect your name, email, or any personal identifiers.
• We do not track your usage or browsing activity.
• We do not use cookies or analytics on our backend.
• We do not sell your data to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

• Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic — AI analysis. Only aggregated metrics are sent. Subject to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Netlify — backend hosting. Subject to Netlify's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Retention

All your analysis data is stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB. You can delete it at any time by clearing the extension's storage in Chrome settings. We retain Stripe payment confirmation records for accounting purposes only.
